Alice und Rain führen ein Kommando-Team in den "Hive", eine riesige Genforschungsfabrik, in der eine Stunde zuvor ein tödliches Virus ausgebrochen ist. Das Virus hat in Sekunden das gesamte Forschungspersonal getötet und sie als blutrünstige Untote wieder auferstehen lassen. Alice hat weniger als 3 Stunden Zeit, das Virus in dem unterirdischen Komplex zu isolieren, ansonsten droht es die Welt zu vernichten. Doch bald wird dem Team klar, dass sie nicht nur von Untoten in der Anlage bedroht werden...
Die Dreharbeiten an der Fortsetzung mit dem Titel "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" (ursprünglich: "Nemesis") begannen im August 2003 in Toronto... Regie führte dieses Mal Alexander Witt, der seine Handschrift schon bei den Actionsequenzen einer Vielzahl von Hollywood-Blockbustern, wie z.B. "Fluch der Karibik", "xXx" oder "Black Hawk Down" hinterlassen hat.... Das Sequel kam am 23. September 2004 in die deutschen Kinos...
Alice versucht eine Gruppe von Überlebenden aus der Stadt zu führen, in der durch den Ausbruch des Todesvirus bereits Teile der Bevölkerung zu lebenden Toten mutiert sind. Doch auch die von der übermächtigen Umbrella Corporation entwickelte genetische Kampfmaschine "Nemesis" soll die Flucht verhindern. Bei einem Kampf auf Leben und Tod erkennt Alice, dass sie beide mehr miteinander verbindet, als sie sich je vorstellen konnte...

Epps) und Claire (Ali Larter). Auf dem Weg nach Arcadia - dem einzigen
Ort in Alaska, an dem Menschen noch überleben können - muss die Gruppe
erneut gegen die dunklen Machenschaften von Dr. Isaacs (Iain Glen) und
der Umbrella Corporation kämpfen. Isaacs hat Alice hundertfach zu
einer Kampfarmada klonen lassen, um die Infizierten und auch die

IMAX Corporation and Sony Pictures Releasing today announced that Resident Evil: Afterlife, the fourth installment of the popular film series based on the video game, will be released to digital IMAX theatres simultaneously with the film's wide release on September 10, 2010.

Paul loves the 3D - he wants to do his next movie in 3D. I think it is one of the best scripts in the series so far. [...]
Why did you guys go 3D for this one?
Paul was intrigued by 3D. I actually made a 3D movie, Space Hunter, back in 1983 -- the last time 3D was hot. I must admit, I am astonished at how much better the technology is now. We had two huge Panaflex Goldens shooting side-by-side into mirrors, and the way they projected it was over-under, kind of a Technascope thing. So the image quality was nowhere near where we are. We are using Sony F35s that have incredible definition; and it is projecting in HD digital. It's amazing quality. Plus filmmakers have learned not to poke the audience in the eye. You can sit back and enjoy. That's not to say we don't have some things coming at us, but it's not constant. It just enhances the experience -- it really puts you into the action. When Alice is running down a corridor firing machine guns, the shells are whizzing past your ears. It's quite amazing. [...]

Mit der Veröffentlichung von "Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition" (Xbox 360 und PS3) am 12. März 2010 präsentiert Capcom allen RE-Fans ab sofort das dazugehörige offizielle, kostenfreie Screenpaper. Zum Herunterladen bereit unter dem Link Residentevil5-Magazin.de, gibt das digitale Nachschlagewerk Hinweise und Informationen rund um Features und Inhalte der Gold Edition. Sowohl die darin enthaltenen Zusatz-Episoden "In Alpträumen verloren" und "Eine verzweifelte Flucht" als auch die Kostüm-Pakete und das neue "Söldnertreffen" werden ausführlich vorgestellt. Ebenso tritt der erstmals in Deutschland und nur via Gold-Edition verfügbare "Versus Modus" ins Rampenlicht.
Eine Pflichtlektüre also für alle, die sich bereits im Kampf gegen das Böse in Kijuju ihre Sporen verdient haben oder auch für diejenigen, die mit Chris Redfield und Sheva Alomar ihre ersten Schritte auf afrikanischem Boden unternehmen wollen.

STYD sprach mit Shawn Roberts (u.a. "Land of the Dead", "Diary of the Dead") über seine Rolle in "Resident Evil: Afterlife"...
[...] "I play Albert Wesker who is head of the Umbrella Corporation who is responsible for the outbreak of the T-virus, or the Uroboros virus," he told us, hinting that this entry may be extracting elements from Resident Evil 5. "It was nice to be in a position of sitting back playing with my puppets as they were. We finished in December and I guess right now it's just about making sure the technology gets into the screen so 3-D can happen."
Written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, and of course starring Milla Jovovich as Alice, Roberts says, "The storyline goes on its own [in terms of its faithfulness to the game]. We made sure we brought elements in. The wardrobe is very similar and as close as we could get it. We have some fight scenes that are taken directly from the game. We're doing it for the fans so we want to do what makes them happy. The dogs come back. They're my pets which is cool."
"My character is such a favorite character in the games," he adds, "so I'm just like 'alright I don't want to piss anyone off.' You make it the best you can. The key thing is that it was fun. I would walk onto set and not even have my wardrobe, but wardrobe comes over and they hand me my gloves and give me my jacket. It just sort of takes shape. I'm a fan and I'm not disappointed." [...]

A few months back, we reported that Paul Anderson's Resident Evil: Afterlife was moved back to January 2011 in order to give the director more time for the computer process needed to release the movie in 3D. [...]
At the time, actress Milla Jovovich, who has played Alice in all four movies, claimed on her Twitter feed that the release date change wasn't definite. The move also would have put the fourth installment up against MGM's own 3D horror flick Cabin in the Woods, forcing them to split digital 3D screens. It looks like Anderson won't be needing that extra time for the FX and 3D after all, as ShockTillYouDrop has learned that things are back on track for Resident Evil: Afterlife to be released not on September 24 as originally slated, but two weeks earlier on September 10! [...]

Screen Gems and Constantin Film announced today that Resident Evil: Afterlife, the next installment in the widely successful "Resident Evil" film franchise has begun production in Toronto, Canada. The fourth film, which will be shot and released in 3-D, is a first in the "Resident Evil" film franchise. Most of the key creative players, who turned the "Resident Evil" film franchise into a global phenomenon, will be reprising their roles in "Afterlife."
Actress Milla Jovovich returns as the zombie-fighting heroine Alice. Ali Larter reprises her role as Claire Redfield from Resident Evil: Extinction. Spencer Locke, who played K-Mart in "Extinction," is also set to return. New to the film franchise is leading man Wentworth Miller, who has signed on as Chris Redfield - Claire's brother and a popular character from the game series. Shawn Roberts will take over the role of Alice's nemesis Wesker. Boris Kodjoe and Kim Coates have also been cast.
Filmmaker Paul W. S. Anderson is back in his triple threat capacity as writer, director and producer. Anderson wrote, produced and directed the first Resident Evil (2002) and wrote and produced the sequels, Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004) and "Extinction" (2007). Producing alongside Anderson are the same creative minds from the three previous films: Anderson's longterm producing partner Jeremy Bolt, Constantin Film's Bernd Eichinger (writer and producer of the Oscar®-nominated films The Baader Meinhof Complex and Downfall) and Robert Kulzer, and Samuel Hadida. Rounding out the "Afterlife" producing team is Don Carmody, also a producer on "Apocalypse." Martin Moszkowicz and Victor Hadida are again executive producing.
"It is tremendously exciting to bring a new chapter in the 'Resident Evil' saga to life with such a talented group of actors and filmmakers," said Kulzer, who produced the sci-fi horror flick Pandorum with Anderson and Bolt. "It gets better every time."
Anderson offered a small glimpse of what can be expected in the new film: "Alice's battle with The Umbrella Corporation isn't finished. Last time we saw Alice, she let them know she was coming after them. It's time to settle the score."
Screen Gems' President Clint Culpepper noted, "The 'Resident Evil' franchise has successfully entertained audiences around the globe and we are pleased to bring yet another installment to fans with the same creative team but this time in 3-D."
Based on the massively popular "Resident Evil" video game series by Capcom Entertainment, the "Resident Evil" films are part of a global brand that also includes books, merchandising, DVD collections and more.
Screen Gems will distribute Resident Evil: Afterlife in the U.S. and Sony Pictures will distribute in certain select foreign territories. Screen Gems previously handled U.S. distribution of Resident Evil, "Apocalypse" and "Extinction." Constantin Film will retain all German-language rights. Metropolitan Film Export, headed by Samuel Hadida and Victor Hadida, will distribute the film in France.
"Afterlife" is expected to hit U.S. theatres in fall 2010 and throughout the rest of the word in the following months.

Boris Kodjoe: Yeah, they’re those monsters, what are they called? Anyway, she comes across the jail and there’s a couple of survivors and she lands on top of the roof and partners up with me to fight the guys that are coming after them. We’re trying to get all of the survivors out of the jail to safety. We’re starting next week, actually.
Where are you gonna be shooting at?
Boris Kodjoe: We’re shooting in Toronto.
Were you a fan of the franchise?
Boris Kodjoe: Yeah I saw the first one which I thought was interesting. I really adore and respect her, and also Paul W.S Anderson, who is the director. He’s married to her, and he’s a tremendous visionary, he’s got all these great ideas. What I like most about him is that he’s so excited about what he does. He really loves his job. That always goes a long way, because when you go to work with a smile on your face the outcome can only be positive. I love working with people who like what they do. He’s definitely one of those guys. He led me around the studio when I was out there to meet with them. He’s got it all worked out. He’s working with them making new cameras that James Cameron’s partner developed for "Avatar". All this stuff plays into this movie making it an experience I’m looking forward to.
With Milla back and Paul Anderson directing the movie do you know if any of the characters from the previous movies will be back as well?
Boris Kodjoe: It’s gonna be Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, I’m the new one, and Wentworth Miller is also in the movie. He's the lead in "Prison Break".
Is he another survivor?
Boris Kodjoe: Yes. He’s playing a guy that we actually locked up when we took over the jail because we weren’t sure if he was one of them or not. He comes into play as we try to find a way to get out with our survivors.[...]
